Boarding advice

What to include on a dog boarding instruction sheet

Verbal instructions at drop-off get lost between shifts. One short page keeps care consistent.

Include on the sheet

  • Dog name, stay dates (age/breed optional)
  • Feeding: times, portions, food type, allergies
  • Medication: name, dose, time, with or without food
  • Behaviour: fear, food guarding, escape risk, dog reactivity
  • Emergency contacts: owner, backup, vet, emergency vet
  • Who is allowed to pick up the dog
  • Anything the kennel’s own form also requires

Frequently asked questions

Does this replace the kennel’s form?

No. Kennel forms and policies come first.

How long should it be?

One page if possible.

Medication packaging?

Follow kennel and vet rules; write doses on the sheet either way.

KennelReady helps you organise packing. Follow your veterinarian and your boarding facility’s rules for food, medication, and vaccines. Medication instructions must follow the vet and kennel.
